CONGRATULATIONS DR. MATTHEW OPOKU PREMPEH HON. MINISTER OF ENERGY & MP FOR MANHYIA SOUTH CONSTITUENCY
On behalf of the Parliamentary Candidates of the New Patriotic Party of the Volta region, I wish to express our warm felicitations to you and specially congratulate you on your selection as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the party for the 2024 Presidential elections.
This news does not come to us as a surprise but an anticipated outcome of the meticulous survey and belief of the incoming President in you as someone, who can connect with the grassroots of the party and all caliber of the Ghanaian populace. It is our considered view that you will bring on board your sterling leadership qualities which you have evinced during your term as the Minister of Education, where you have helped the President to realize his long term dream of implementing FSHS policy. Indeed, you have shown similar verve and tenacity as the Minister of Energy by making sure that our country has not been plunged into years of blackout (dumsor) which gained its notoriety during the era of Former President Mahama.
Your abhorrence to the name “dumsor” stems from your love to the business community among others who need power so much to do their businesses, hence; you would consciously and unconsciously do anything to ensure that the country does not experience excruciating power outages that may lead to the collapse of businesses.
We, the Parliamentary Candidates of the Volta region believe in your vast experience as a politician, medical doctor, generosity and support to the party rank and file, especially over the last seven and half years, and verily so, believe that as a consummate politician, you will continue in that direction to engender the needed support to compliment the efforts of the hardworking Presidential Candidate Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia to win the 2024 elections in order not to truncate the development agenda of the county.
We are happy for your selection because we know when you become the Vice President, you’ll not advise the president to scrap Teacher Training allowance.
We are happy because we know when you become the Vice President, you’ll not advise the president to scrap Nursing Training allowance.
We are happy because we know when you become the Vice President you’ll not advise the president to let SHS students pay water and electricity bills.
May God be your guide!
Once again, receive our warm felicitations and congratulations whilst we look forward to working with you closely.
